At Coastal Strength & Fitness, we’re lucky to have a community of driven, inspiring, and hardworking members. And this month, we’re shining the spotlight on someone who embodies what it means to show up, push limits, and lead by example—Mike Clark!

Mike is a staple in the 5:15 AM crew, known for his work ethic, strength, and ability to push himself (and those around him) to the next level. He’s not just in the gym to move—he’s here to lift heavy, train hard, and keep raising the bar.

Q&A with Mike Clark

When and Why did you first start coming to Coastal Strength & Fitness?

I started in January 2020 with a free one-month trial. I liked the format and coaching and needed to switch things up. It’s been worth it ever since!

What activities/sports were you doing before joining Coastal?

I used to run/jog, hike, and do bodyweight home workouts. Since joining Coastal, running has taken a backseat due to knee and ankle pain, but my hiking has increased a ton—I have big plans for more this year!

What results have you seen since joining Coastal?

I’ve gained serious strength and endurance. At 51 years old, I’m stronger than ever!

What do you like most about Coastal Strength & Fitness?

The format and coaching are top-notch, and the class size and people make it even better. Every day brings motivation and energy!

What is your favorite training day of the week and why?

I train five days a week, but my favorites? Heavy squat and bench days—nothing beats pushing big weight!
